Today, I needed a black pen, so K gave me one. Yeah it was awesome.

(P.S. K is not the real name of the person who gave me the pen. You know who you are! Being chased by little kids!)

If you like computers, then this post is for you. You have maybe heard of Mac Book Air? It was a new super fast computer, that was ultra thin, and had a awesome touch pad thingy. But what it failed to have was an Ethernet port, an optical disc drive, and no 3G wireless ability. On it’s good side, it’s really light, one of the lightest ever made!

This post is not about the Mac Book air. It’s about it’s newest cousins, The Mac Book Earth, Water, and Fire. If you like computers that are friendly to the environment, that you can pour the screen out of a bottle, or it is super-ultra-fast, then you’ll like this next part; It’s not really one post, but a series of three posts, one every two weeks.

The Mac Book computer that I’m talking about this week is the Mac Book Earth.

The Mac Book Earth is a new kind of computer. It has no electrical cord, it’s phosphoresent screen uses mere nanowatts, and it’s casing is made of 100% biodegradeable clay, so when a new version of this thing comes out, you can bury it.

The cover has the traditional apple with a bite taken out of it, but the cover also has grass-looking-stuff, and the inside around the touch pad has it, too. It comes with a mini solar power thing, so you can plug that into the computer, and the sun will charge it right up. I’m not sure about this, but I think that the solar powered thinger takes wind power too. No wait, I’m sure about that part. Imagine! A lap-top that runs on the sun and the wind!

There are no prices or release dates that I know about yet, but those are sure to come. Please visit my blog in two weeks, to see the next part of this series, the Mac Book that comes in a water bottle!

Please take a look at these links, wait, sorry, but I can’t put in any links. All the links that I have found talk about all three new computers. I just wanted a link for the Mac Book Earth, but I couldn’t find any. Sorry.

People will soon start to buy computers like this, and that will change the world! No more plug in cords, or anything!

The End….. of part one!

So, you are this big business person, (you own a big business) and you need a door greeter. You have tried all sorts of other ones, but they didn’t do a very good job. What do you do? You hire a Wakamaru, of course!

Wakamaru are robots, and are made to greet people as they walk in the door, and can play a few games with people. The games include rock-paper-scissors, and simple calisthenic routines. The Wakamaru knows about 10,000 English words, and can make sentences, too.

Wakamaru can be rented out to different companies for $1000 a day, for up to five days. It lets people know how it’s feeling, what the time is, and what the weather is like outside. It has a recharging station, so it can recharge (duh), and has a little screen on it’s belly/chest that usually shows a red bowtie.

Sometimes, I can’t believe how smart Wakamaru is, and I think that there is a guy behind the scenes, being his voice, and telling him what to do. But, belive it or not, there is no guy *behind the scenes!* Wakamaru does all he can do, by himself, no programming necessary. (Except where he was made, but that doesn’t count)

One thing I don’t under-stand is why would you need a robot to be your receptionist, when you can use people just as well? I think that the answer is that Japan scientists just wanted to see if they could do it, or that it is a big money grab. I think that the last one is more likely then the first one.

Wakamaru is trying for a Facebook account, and has more then one hundred friends. he is also trying to get a Twitter account, so his fans can see what he is doing all day long.

stuffThere are lots of videos and pictures I could put with this post, but I already have one picture, and I am going to put in one video for you. You can see more if you type ‘Wakamaru’ into Flickr, Google, or Youtube.

This robot and robots like it are going to change the world. Soon, every major company in the world is going to have a reseptionist robot, too! Get ready to see this ‘lil yellow bot all over the place!

-THE END

So, there’s this wonderful excellent person (like you). This person always did wonderfully excellent things. One day, this person heard about a new car. But it wasn’t just any new car. This was an air powered car! Because this person always did wonderfully excellent things, and an air powered car was wonderfully excellent because it didn’t ruin the environment, the person bought it.

Would you?

I wouldn’t. Not in a life-time. I wouldn’t touch the offer with a ten foot pole. Well, not with some more information, of course. That’s why I’m writing this post. To tell people about this new air-powered- car, it’s good side and it’s bad, and of course, if it really works. Lets get started.

First things first. The air powered car (APC from now on) really works! It can travel 848 (eight hundred forty-eight, for those who don’t read numbers) miles on a single tank of compressed air! How big is a tank? I don’t know:( But I don’t think it’s very big, or the car would be to heavy. Or too small, or the car wouldn’t go hardly anywhere

air powered carThis is it! The air powered car!

The APC runs on a compressed air tank, of course, and an air tank is far cheaper then a battery, quicker to charge, and easier to maintain. At first, the car couldn’t go very far, only 40-50 (forty to fifty) miles to a tank. Then Zero Pollution Motors (the company that created this particular car) added a small fuel-powered heater, which boosts the efficiency of the air engine. The only problem, is that the heater makes the “Zero Pollution” claim untrue!

So. After this information, would you buy the car when it comes out in 2010? (Two thousand, ten.) I myself still don’t really know. But I do know that this car will change the whole car business. It will change the whole world! All the other car company’s will make cars like this too. Some of them might not run on air, but other things, like water. There is a real water powered car, but it doesn’t go very far, very fast. If you want, the link on the water powered car is here. Even if you don’t want it, it’s here.

To see where I got all my information and some of my pictures, click here. (This is to tell you that I am not stealing this guy’s work, and that I am still following the copyright law. See one post down.) See a video of an air powered engine. Watch it here. This is a movie that I found on Youtube, of some British news reporter talk about the air powered engine. You should watch it. This particular engine might not be the engine in the car above, but it is very close to it if it is not the same engine.

I think that this car is very important for the world. It will change the way people think about cars. They use to think things like, “Oh, there’s another one of those polluting cars, again.” Now, they will think things like. “I’m glad that that car doesn’t pollute.” This is the end of my post. Hope you liked it.

Hello everyone. This post is about copyright. The main question that people ask is, what is copyright? Copyright is something that protects something you make. It is a license that the creator of an original work owns. if someone makes a song, and you want to mix it or something, you have to ask their permission to do so. Without copyright, someone could read a book, song, anything that you made, and they could take it and call it their own work. You used to have to apply for the rights to copyright something, but now, if you create something that is originally yours, it is copyrighted immediately. The copyright on it lasts your whole lifetime, plus fifty years after you are dead. After all that time has passed, that work goes into the Public Domain

The Public Domain is where all the things protected under the Copyright law (see later) go when the copyright time is up. Things in the Public Domain, anyone can use, for almost every purpose. Of all the books found in all the library’s of the world, the estimate is that only 15 % are in the Public domain, even though about 10 % are still in print. The other 75 % are under copyright protection.

For a creation with multiple authors, the copyright law lasts until the last author dies. for an unknown author, copyright lasts fifty years after the publication.

For something to be copyrighted, it must fit in one of the four major categories. Literary, dramatic, musical, or artistic. Second, it must be fixed in material form, not an idea in the authors head. third, the work has to be original. Say, some one writes a book, and you like the idea. You can use the idea, but not the form that the other author put it in, if that makes any sense. Finally, there must be a connection between the author and Canada, or another country/state that has a copyright law. Since almost everywhere qualifies, this last part has become largely moot.

If you create something, but want people to use parts of it, you can put it on Creative Commons!

Creative Commons is a thing that people can register the thing that they created so people can use it, but under certain conditions. Some conditions might be that you have to say that they created it, or that you can use only a specific part of it.

Some might be wondering if you can use a part of something, even if it is copyrighted. You can within certain boundaries. If you created a Walt Disney movie, (You work for Walt Disney) and the commercial people want to display some of it on a commercial, they can only use a small part of it. I think it’s ten seconds long or something.

One last thing. Under copyright, only the creator has the right to copy the work, or any part of it, in substantial form. The creator can also publish it if it is unpublished.

To see reams more information, follow this link to Wikipedia! (Due to problems, when you get to the page, look at the URL bar, and back-space the extra http;// If you can get to the Wikipedia page, ignore this postscript!)

Thats the end of my post. Hope you liked it!
